Evaluation
All participants will undergo a full movement evaluation in a licensed physical therapy clinic. As all bodies are different, so too are exercise programs, and the goals that accompany them. Each assessment and treatment plan will be exclusive to the individual and their desired use for their body. In the same way that physical therapy patients are assessed to determine the best method of treatment, our programs strive to identify and correct any muscle imbalances. Subsequent evaluations, demonstrating higher levels of proficiency must be completed before being progressed through the system.

Corrective Exercise

Through corrective stretching, and targeted postural adjustments, the body can be prepared to exercise effectively and pain free. The goal in this phase is to train muscles based on their intended purpose and specific movements patterns. Using the initial evaluation, the groundwork will be laid by learning to stand, walk, move, and exercise while maintaining perfect form and function.

Establishing a "Functional Core"

Addressing pain issues ( bad back, knee issues, etc.), corrective exercise is intended to reinforce proper movement, and to reduce the incidence of injury due to dysfunction .
The most commonly ignored phase, this foundation building period sets the stage for success or failure in any program .
Neuro training  is an essential  component in any year round athletic program.

Muscle Re-Education
Joints move based on a combination of sagital  ( back and forth), frontal (side to side), and transverse (rotational) planes, and are driven by muscles. Train to activate specific muscle groups in order to maintain posture, promote proper breathing, and more. Teaching muscles to operate in all three planes of motion allows for all possible angles of the fibers to be strengthened. Rather than focus on the limitations, re-education multiplies the current capabilities of any muscle group. “  You will learn to use muscles that you never knew you had.”

INTRO to FITNESS
Neuro training is the secret to success in beginning any new physical activity.

Starting a new fitness program after a long lay off, or after being injured is equivalent to pulling your dad’s 10 speed off the rack in the garage and entering the Tour De France.   While you are probably able to ride a bike with no real issues , there are still things that you might consider . Preparing yourself for the physical demands, along with tuning up the bike should be part of your pre ride ritual. In other words , PREPARE , PRACTICE , PERFORM .
The rigors of teaching muscles unfamiliar patterns can cause neuromuscular confusion that burns calories while teaching coordination, stamina, and strength. Very light weights may be used, with the emphasis being on fluid movement. So, while sometimes frustrating, but always rewarding, Safety training creates confidence. Once the movements are sound and you have full range of motion, the journey has begun…
