Josiah’s Time …     a story of living

     In a world filled with blessings , we often overlook the most precious gifts . A lifelong friend of mine , Jason Caito  reminded me of the beauty of the human spirit by sharing the above story with me .  Watch the video and then ask yourself if you are living , or simply planning to .

     As we stare into our past , and lament over lost opportunities , wishing for one more chance to get it right , our present escapes us . By holding back our best effort , we hope that “some day” , when we get the chance , we will let it all hang out .  Not now , not yet , but someday soon , we will show the world what we are made of .  When that day comes , there will be no stopping us , there will be no turning back , and everyone will finally see how they have misjudged us . Until then … We wait.

     Thanks Caito . Thanks for being you . Thank you to all of Jason Caitos in the world that take the shot at every opportunity . Thank you for being man enough to chase your dreams , to show the rest of us that life is about today , about right now .  

       Yesterday , just outside the PT clinic where I train world class athletes , Adrian Wilson of the Arizona Cardinals pulled up in his new Aston Martin Rapide . With envy in my heart , and greed in my soul , I checked out his new ride , first in person , and then through Google. As I recounted all of the choices that had led me to not being able to afford the $200,000 price tag  , I promised myself that one day …

Today , my friend sent this story to me . It was almost as if he were reaching out to remind me that life is about living , not wanting . The Nike slogan ” Just Do It” speaks to the fact that we aren’t already ” doing it” . Think about that for a moment , and make the moment brief .  Time is the enemy of dreams , as it ticks away , so do the colors of our imagination .  Time is NOT on your side , there is no tomorrow . There is only right now , and you control this very second .
